There is a huge, (seemingly) abandoned project in Agia Varvara, Paphos which used to be called "Santa Barbara Hills Park Mixed Use Resort".

A while back it was for sale, but seems to be off the market again.

Does anybody know the history of this project? Why did it fail? I see there is a landfil nearby, which must have been built around the same time.
Did that have anything to do with why this never was completed?

I've no idea - there's another abandoned project in Kouklia (Paphos)

How much of a nuisance is the Phaphos landfill? I did some online research and read it catches on fire sometimes?
